ExampleWhy sketch your project
A few minutes of drawing, a better set of bids
A tape measure and a rough idea of the layout are all it takes. Here is what the sketch does for you.
Bids that line up
Every contractor prices the same rooms and the same measurements, so you compare the bids line for line.
Fewer visits and calls
Contractors see the size and shape of the space before they call, so the questions get shorter and the bids come sooner.
Draw once, use it again
The sketch is saved with your address. The next project there starts from it, so you draw each room one time.
Show exactly what you mean
Place the cabinets, the tub, the skylight or the fence line where you want them. A drawing settles what words leave open.
Rough is fine
Close measurements already help. PAC and your contractor confirm the numbers before any work starts.
Change it any time
Add a detail or fix a number whenever you like. The contractors bidding on your project are told to look at the latest sketch.

- The foundationMark a basement, a crawl space or a slab under the lowest floor.
- A 3D view of the houseTurn the house around and look into each room. Contractors open the same view on your project.

Questions
About the drawing tools
Do I have to draw a sketch to post a project?
A sketch is optional. A description and a few photos are enough to post. A sketch helps most on kitchens, baths, basements, additions, flooring, painting, roofs, siding, windows, decks, concrete, fences and garages, and the guided questions for those projects suggest what to draw.
What does it cost?
The drawing tools are included with your customer account at no extra charge, on every project you post.
Who sees my sketch?
PAC and the contractors who can see your project. Your street address is shared only with the contractor awarded your project.
What if a measurement is off?
Change it any time. The contractors bidding on your project are told to look at the latest sketch, and PAC and your contractor confirm the measurements before any work starts.
What do I need to use it?
A web browser and a tape measure. A computer or a tablet gives you the most room to draw.
Do contractors get the drawing tools too?
Every contractor sees the floor plan and the 3D view on the jobs they can bid. Contractors also draw their own customers' properties to estimate from them. Add the tools you want to your PAC account as plans, one at a time or in a bundle.
